HOSPITAL/HEALTH CARE CHAPLAINCY

Bishops Advisers on Hospital Chaplaincy

Bishops Advisers are appointed by the Diocesan Bishop to advise him on matters relating to Hospital Chaplaincy; to serve as the prime link between Chaplains and the Diocese and its staff; and to represent the interests of Chaplaincy within the Diocese.

The Advisers serve as the main contact point between the Bishop and local NHS Trusts through the Chairman and/or Chief Executive, and oversee the development of local policy on chaplaincy.

They also provide pastoral support to all Chaplains within the Diocese including supporting their induction to the new role and guiding the development of appropriate relationships between Whole-time and Part-Time appointees through the development of mentoring arrangements.
